Metallica is a heavy metal band from America who started their career as a thrash metal band. They released four thrash metal masterpieces and changed their style in 1991 when they released the Metallica or Black Album, appealing to the wider metal audience. This album became a huge success commercially but costed Metallica the appreciation of their thrash audience, which was never gained back, as Metallica until today insist on playing commercial metal music. However Metallica have played an important role thrash metal and heavy metal music in general, mostly because of their four early thrash metal albums.


Metallica and Ramstein open the sonishpere festival - Sofia, Bulgaria

Metallica and Ramstein will open the sonisphere festical in Sofia, Bulgaria. Bulgaria will be holding its first Sonisphere over 2 days in Sofia on 22–23 June. The venue is the Vasil Levski National Stadium. It is one of the greatest metal concerts ever held in Bulgaria and all metal fans should be really excited. Apart from Metallica and Rammstein, this concert will feature many more great metal bands: Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Heaven & Hell, Manowar, Alice in Chains, Mastodon and Stone Sour will be there.

I mean really, what more can you say than: Get a ticket and meet you there!! P.S. Wish Pantera could be in this gig too. It would be thrash paradise ...
